Calm App Review

Nov 08, 2024

Hello, my lovelies!

Today, I want to do a review of the Calm Meditation/Mindfulness App!

First, this is a free app that you can get on any smartphone. While the app is free, a premium version is available for about $70 per year. You can also pay $400 for a lifetime membership to premium, if you like That being said, it is worth the yearly price. If you have the cash though, the $400 plan is also very much worth it. You can use things for free without having to make a purchase. Here are some examples.

5 Free Things On the Calm App

  1. Timed meditation options
  2. Free scenes with built-in nature sounds
  3. Sleep stories
  4. Gratitude meditations
  5. Music selections

However, if you want to splurge on the paid subscription you will also get access to more sleep stories, a daily meditation called “The Daily Calm”, and other premium features such as being able to download the sleep stories and other meditations. You also have access to all the free content so there’s a lot of “bang for your buck” here. Students can get a discount of $8.99 per year, after a 3-month trial. This is available via Amazon only, according to my research.

My Review of Calm

I’ve used both the paid and free versions. I see value in both however, I feel that the paid option is much more robust. I did a year-long meditation practice with the app by using the “Daily Calm” feature and it made my life SO much better. That being said, I have also tried the free features and find them to be a great resource.

This leads me to my next point. When I looked into creating a solid meditation practice, I looked at this app first because it was WIDELY talked about on social media, and in various magazines related to meditation. The funny thing is that they do not have a referral program so any reviews you get (including this one) are not paid and there is no affiliate program. They do have sponsorships with companies, as far as I’m aware.

If you’re looking to create a lasting and sustainable meditation or mindfulness practice, Calm is probably the best way to go. Finding your groove with it is easy, and the app is very easy to use. Between the free and paid options, there’s something in it for everyone! I highly recommend it. Until next time, be well and namaste!
